The Problem
Families struggled to find trustworthy, qualified caretakers for elderly family members. Traditional agencies charged high commissions, had limited transparency in caregiver backgrounds, and offered poor matching algorithms. Caregivers faced limited job opportunities and delayed payments. There was no platform for direct communication, real-time tracking, or verified reviews.
The Solution
Developed a two-sided marketplace using Flutter with BLoC pattern for managing complex caregiver-family matching logic. Implemented location-based search with Google Maps API to find nearby caregivers. Integrated Socket.io Client for real-time chat and availability updates. Used Flutter Paypal for secure payment processing with escrow functionality. Implemented Dartz for functional programming patterns, ensuring robust error handling. Built comprehensive caregiver profiles with verification badges, certifications, and reviews. Created a Django backend with ML-based matching algorithm considering skills, location, availability, and ratings.
